Our Partnership with the International Olympic Committee and UN Women

Always and UN Women have partnered in the fight for young women empowerment, we want to keep all girls feeling confident during puberty and beyond.

In August 2016, Always committed to support UN Women’s “One Win Leads to Another” program, which empowers 10-18 year old girls through sport. It offers these girls free sports facilities in Olympic Villas in Brazil, and creates safe places for them to gain confidence and essential life skills through sports. Multidisciplinary experts provide workshops for the girls to learn about health, preventing violence, and leadership, while building their own self-confidence. The program started in Brazil as an Olympic Legacy, in partnership with the International Olympic Committee, with plans of expanding to reach thousands of girls globally. This program is a great step forward in our mission of young women's empowerment.

Women empowerment

“The power of sport should never be underestimated. It can change lives, through increasing girls’ and young women’s beliefs in their own abilities, encouraging them to take initiative and aim high”, said UN Women Executive Director Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka.
