Discharge and Yeast Infections during pregnancy can be normal! Pregnancy is such a whirlwind of changes for your body! On top of having a little one growing inside, here are a few other things you might notice:
More Vaginal Discharge
Estrogen ups your vaginal discharge during pregnancy. This thin, milky, mild-smelling discharge is perfectly normal and helps keep you and your baby healthy.
The amount can actually increase until term, so be prepared! Some women experience pretty heavy discharge.
More Yeast Infections
As your pregnancy moves along, you may get more yeast infections (and more intense ones, too) as a result of your changing hormone levels. If you notice your vaginal discharge smells bad or is colored, or you feel an unusual itchiness, that might mean you’ve developed a yeast infection. Give your doctor a call if you think you have one.
Yeast infections usually aren’t dangerous for you and your baby, but they can be uncomfortable and annoying. Your doctor can direct you to medication that relieves symptoms quickly without affecting your pregnancy.
